UBA code to buy airtime and check balance
Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes introduced by Nigerian banks in colaboration with mobile networks now being used more than ever for simple bank transactions such as transfering money, buying airtime and checking bank balance.

The services offered by these short codes vary and not all banks have fully joined this new trend in mobile banking that does not require an internet enabled smarphone or a mobile application.

Although the Mobile App is recommended as it provides more security, information and prevents mistakes - short codes will still be used because it's much faster and easier.

Incase you're unsure of what bank USSD codes are, i'm referring to:
*737# by GTBank, *710# by Diamond bank, *894*AMOUNT# by First Bank for buying airtime only and others.

CODE TO CHECK UBA ACCOUNT BALANCE WITHOUT INTERNET
United Bank for Africa (UBA) customers now have a USSD code too. Right now the code can only link your BVN to your account, Buy airtime credit to your phone and also display your Bank Account balance.
Hopefully more services will be added soon.
Note: First time users of this code will be required to enter a 4 digit PIN which restricts access from other users of your phone. Use 4 digits you can easily remember or contact UBA customer care for a PIN reset.

 - To check your UBA Bank Account Balance using Short Code, Dial *919*00#

CODE TO BUY AIRTIME FROM UBA ACCOUNT
 - To Buy Airtime directly from your UBA Bank account, Dial *919*Amount#  or *919*phone number*amount# to buy for someone else.
 - To link your BVN to your account, dial *919*6#
