Huawei's subsidiary company Honor today announced that it will be starting the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for the Honor 8 owners in Japan. The company has planned to start rolling out the update after 12 o'clock (yes, they actually mentioned the time!) on January 16, 2017. Honor believes that it will be able to push the Nougat update to all the Honor 8 users in Japan within a span of one month.
EMUI 5.0 brings a lot of new features to the table. These include a new power management system bundled with a set of different power modes, a new learning algorithm which automatically prioritizes the most used apps and a new app drawer.
According to Honor, the update will also optimize the system, improve stability and application versatility.
The update will weigh around 1.97GB and will have 'FRD-L02C635B360' as the build number. Only users having the current build number of FRD-L02C635B130 on their Honor 8 will be capable of receiving the update. If the current software version of your Honor 8 is FRD-L02C635B100, you first need to update to FRD-L02C635B130.
Huawei has also said that the users will be able to install the Nougat update both from the OTA notification as well as from it's official HiCare application. Users are recommended to ensure that the battery levels in their phones at the time of updating are not below 50%.
