In San Jose where Facebook hosted its annual developer conference, Instagram announces that the Android app will be getting offline capability that will allow users to continuous scrolling and browsing even when you don't have data or in an area where the internet service is very poor.

As Instagram users increase on monthly basis, Instagram has also decided to apply the same offline mode that facebook currently has which means soon you will be able to use Instagram offline. While  using Instagram offline, you’ll be able to see content previously downloaded in your feed, you can leave comments, like and save posts, even unfollow other users; all this according to Instagram engineer, Hendri.

Anytime your device gets an internet connection, everything you did will be executed in the background. Profiles you’ve previously visited will also be visible offline, as well as cached versions of your Explore tab and profile page. On the announcement, it was not mention if Instagram story will work offline, but we’d imagine that Instagram implements this soon as its ‘Stories’ inspiration.

This is a nice development, this kind of development could help Instagram users in developing countries where a stable internet connection is harder to come by to be able to stay connected on Instagram.
